Aim
To train novice and existing operators who have received no formal training on Sit-On Rollers (Deadweight, Vibrating & Rubber Tyred) and to train operators to correctly prepare, safely drive and correctly maintain their machine.

Course Content
Safely operate their machine up to an adequate  standard.
Roll to a kerb, a camber, round curves and to any formation shape required.
Operate any ancillary equipment which may be attached to a roller e.g. spray bars,
scarifier, asphalt cutter.
Operate any system of adjustment to the weight, pressure,  amplitude or frequency
Carry out fault-finding, minor adjustments and routine servicing  procedures in
accordance with the manufacturers and employers   instruction
Load and off-load machines on and off a transporter
Safety precautions which must be observed
Legal requirements

Outcome
Certificate of attendance.  Each trainee is assessed during the practical element of the
course to ensure full understanding of all systems of work taught.  There is also a written
multiple choice theory test paper followed by a full debrief.  A minimum of 80% on the
theory is required to secure a pass
